Tornado in Andover

June 06, 2010

The tornado touched down in the Village this morning at about 6am. The Tornado crossed Creek Rd, Stanhope, just north of Gibbs going east across farm land and wooded area's entering the Village at the Ohio Ave Ball Field, East across South Park Dr, South Main and then into the industrial area behind McDonalds on Rt 85. No injuries were reported. The Andover Police officer on duty witnessed the debris cloud as it went through, noting a stainless steel yard grill flying in the air from South Main Eastbound. Twisted tree tops, toppled trees and roof damage was the extent of the damage. One home on South Park had vinyl fencing embedded into the side of the garage. The roads were cleared and open soon after the storm, Ohio Edison had some power restored before 9am.
